The story of The Magical Stone of Mull

The Isle of Mull is formed by Britain's oldest rocks and was the setting for one of the biggest volcanic explosions the world has ever known.  A hail of highly charged stones descended upon the island.  Mull is a special island, steeped in folklore and tradition. A common theme in many of its stories are its magical, mystical stones.  Some of these stones were believed to have the power of healing and bring good fortune to those who wore them.  It was tradition to give an amulet made from magical stones to worthy children of the past, the Gaelic name for which was "Leigheagan".

Do the stones have magical powers?
Was the magic a result of the volcanic eruption?
