Until April 2008 there were no scheduled flights directly to the Isle of Mull, the nearest airport being Glasgow Airport.
However, we now have a commercial link by seaplane from Glasgow S.E.C. to Tobermory.  Its operation is as follows: (Taken from their website www.lochlomondseaplanes.com/)

In the time it takes to drive to the ferry in Craignure from Tobermory, the seaplane has landed in Glasgow.  No flight terminals to sit in for hours, no waiting in a 'Q' at the end of the runway.  Basically, its like jumping on a very efficient water taxi.  If you wish to arrive on Mull in style, then this is the way to do it!  Getting married, special occasion, business trip where your time matters?  Having to hire a car from Glasgow to Mull?  Look at the costing carefully.

There are other airports; however, public transport links to the Isle of Mull are better from Glasgow.

Private plane owners, can fly to Glenforsa airfield on the island itself.  The Glenforsa airfield on the Isle of Mull is situated on the north of the island, near Salen.  Information about landing conditions and facilities, including weather, can be gained by phoning or E-mailing David Howitt. (01680 300 402) Email mullair@btinternet.com .  Both Oban and Mull airfields are run by qualified enthusiasts who are keen to develop and improve facilities.  Help is freely given.
Glenforsa Airfield has a fly-in every year which is very well supported and visitors are welcome.  Information again from David Howitt.
Situated by the airfield is the Glenforsa Hotel.  The hotel has views across the airfield and the Sound of Mull and is open to non residents for meals and bars.  The proprietor can also be contacted for general information.

Refuelling facilities are not available at Glenforsa, but excellent facilities are available a short distance away, at Oban Airport.  Images on the right give an impression of the Oban facilities.
