The former steadings and workshops have been renovated and are now home to the Glengorm Coffee Shop, selling roasted coffee, fresh baking and lunches. If going for lunch get there early as this is one of the most popular places for lunch in the Tobermory area.
All food is cooked on the premises using produce from the farm and walled garden.
There is also a farm shop on the premises selling Hebridean lamb, beef, wild venison and a range of preserves and chutneys.
Glengorm Castle is about 4 miles from the centre of Tobermory, along the Glengorm road. The drive is scenic and a wonderful place to view a summer sunset. The Coffee Shop and Gallery are open all summer and closes towards the end of October.
The Coffee Shop has a wide range of beverages and ‘home made’ food, some of it produced from the castle’s own market garden. When the weather is good, there are facilities to sit outside. This is quite nice if you have your outside walking clothes and boots on. The castle has many fine walks surrounding it, or, for the less ambitious, a short walk to the gardens and nursery.
Artwork is displayed within the coffee shop by a local artist, many of which are available to purchase.
All in all, Glengorm makes for a good half day’s activity if you are staying in the Tobermory area.
Open March – October.
